What it is

Program overview

Founded at Mission Recreation Center in 1984, MRC Rebels is one of California’s longest-running girls AAU programs. The city-run program serves girls from fourth grade through high school, especially athletes from historically underserved San Francisco communities, and pairs fundamentals and mentorship with local and national tournament exposure.

Season
Spring/summer and fall tryouts are published through SF Rec & Parks. The 2026 spring tryouts ran in late February and early March.
Who it serves
Girls from youth through high-school ages. The published 2026 tryouts covered ages 9–14 for youth and 12–17 for high school.

Mission Recreation Center

The program’s home is the public gym at 2450 Harrison Street. The facility has a full indoor court and also hosts public basketball, volleyball, pickleball and indoor soccer; team tryouts and practice access are scheduled separately from drop-in hours.
